Government Action AlertsWWEMA Supports Ex-Im Bank Reauthorization
UPDATE: The Ex-Im Bank has been reauthorized until September30, 2019. WWEMA thanks all of our members who worked to support this measure.
WWEMA is a strong supporter of the Ex-Im Bank. Last year, we joined with 865 organizations across the country to send a strong message to Congress that the Ex-Im bank should be reauthorized. Congress extended its charter from September 30, 2014, to June 30, 2015, but that extension has now expired.
Ex-Im provides loans, loan guarantees, and export credit insurance to help cover financing gaps for American exporters. It helps level the playing field for U.S. companies seeking new sales in fiercely competitive global markets. The Bank helps U.S. companies, including small and medium-sized businesses, sell their products overseas, creates jobs for American workers, and grows the U.S. economy.
WWEMA is once again joining forces with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and over 1,000 businesses and organizations to reach out to Congress to ask them to reauthorize the Ex-Im Bank.
So what can you do?
1) Visit the Ex-Im Bank Support Page on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce website to learn more.
2) Write/contact your Congressional offices ASAP and tell them how your business has benefited by the Ex-Im Bank and urge them to reauthorize its charter (see web site above for sample letter and email options for Congress).
3) Contact WWEMA at 703.444.1777 to obtain samples of state-specific letters.
